Following a coupled experimental and modelling approach, we investigate the metallurgy of the higher manganese silicide in order to gain a better understanding of the underlying physics of this class of materials and design guidance to obtain the desired properties through the quantitative microstructure control.
In this presentation, we will describe the relationship between structure, microstructure, texture and properties of the higher manganese silicide.
