Preparation of magnetic particles get much attention recently due to their potential application in ferrofluids, advanced magnetic materials, high density magnetic recording media and medical diagnostics.Nanocrystalline Fe-Ni-Co ternary alloy particles were synthesized by ultrasonic spray pyrolysis and hydrogen reduction method. Fe(NO3)3.9H2O, Ni(NO3)2.6H2O and Co(NO3)2.6H2O were used as a starting material to synthesize the nanocrystalline spherical ternary alloy particles. The experiments were performed at 600 ,800 and 1000 degrees using nitrate solution with concentration of 0.1 M. Shape morphology, size, chemical composition and crystal structure of the particles were investigated. X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscope (FEG-SEM) and energy dispersive spectroscopy (EDS) studies were carried out to characterize the ternary alloys particles. Chemical analysis showed that nitrate base precursor fully decomposed and transform Fe-Ni-Co ternary alloy particles without any impurity trace. Results exhibited that spherical nanocrystalline Fe-Ni-Co ternary alloy particles were prepared in the size range of 65 and 350 nm. |
