**Abstract Scope** |
The Bragg-Williams Model has a long history of providing insight into the ordering behavior of metal alloys, especially binary systems. Using nearest-neighbor approximations, analytical expressions of the Gibbs free energy are constructed, usually in terms of a temperature-dependent order parameter. Here, the model is adapted to describe the partial ordering observed in some high-entropy alloys, especially those containing large amounts of aluminum. The present approach expresses the configurational entropy of mixing in terms of a set of order parameters, which may be manipulated to explore element-dependent ordering trends. |
