Abstract Scope |
Electrical contact is an essential component in the solid oxide fuel cell (SOFC) stacks. However, relatively limited information is available in the literature regarding the materials choices for this component. In this presentation, the electrical contact and contact materials for SOFC stacking are reviewed. Following an introduction of the functions and working conditions of electrical contact, the material requirements for electrical contact in SOFC stacks are outlined and the current materials for the cathode-interconnect contact, including noble metals, conductive ceramics, their composites, multilayered structures, etc. are critically reviewed. The electrical contact and contact materials on the anode-interconnect side are also briefly discussed. Several potential research directions on SOFC contact materials are then highlighted. |
