Hastelloy X is a solid solution strengthened nickel-based superalloy that has been reported to crack when processed through additive manufacturing, despite being considered traditionally weldable. Previous work has demonstrated the feasibility of fabricating crack-free Hastelloy X parts through laser powder bed fusion (LPBF) without the need of altering the powder composition. This presentation will discuss the mechanical properties of these parts, tested on the as-built state and after post-processing, at different conditions. The microstructural features of these parts will also be explored, and their effects on the mechanical properties will be discussed.
