Abstract Scope |
One important application of the cubic polymorph of yttria-stabilized zirconia (YSZ) is in the solid oxide fuel cells (SOFCs), due to its high ionic conductivity. It is important to know the conductivity changes of cubic-YSZ vs. temperature and oxygen partial pressure, to control the function of the cells in all working conditions. This talk will cover our recent study on:
1. the phase diagrams for nano YSZ powders;
2. The Brouwer diagram simulation, the mobility of oxygen vacancies, and the oxygen ionic conductivity prediction of cubic-YSZ in a wide temperature and yttria concentration range;
3. the updated YSZ bulk thermodynamic database;
4. The thermodynamic equilibria inside the Mn-YSZ system. |
