The master alloy technique is a significantly cost-benefit process, in which the master alloy powders and the carbonyl nickel powder are blended together and sintered to form the alloy with homogenous composition. The mechanical properties and microstructures of the K418 superalloy with blending ratio 3:2 (Master alloy: Ni) were mainly discussed in this paper. The master alloy powder was prepared by mechanical alloying. The specimens are near total densification after hot isostatic pressing, and the ultimate tensile strength of the specimens reaches 1118MPa after solution treatment at 1200℃ for 2h, which exceeds that of cast specimens by far.
