Abstract Scope Sam Karcher (sam.karcher@wsu.edu), Washington State University. The material chosen for this project is Uddeholm AEB-L stainless steel. Designed for knives, razors and scalpels, AEB-L has very fine grains and carbides, and can take a very sharp edge. Experiments will be designed to test various parameters to optimize the properties for cutlery applications.
