||Investigation of Elemental Distribution in the Sheet Sections after Aluminum Continuous Sheet Casting, Cold Rolling and Heat Treatment Processes

Casted coils produced by twin roll casting process through cold rolling process are converted into flat plates or rolled products in order to provide the desired thickness, surface quality, mechanical and metallurgical properties. The amount of deformation applied to the material by the rolling process changes the internal structure of the material. Besides, the phase distribution / elemental distribution in aluminum sheets is an important metallurgical condition affecting the final mechanical properties as well as determining the character of the structure. Aluminum low strength values can be increased considerably by alloying with other metals. The most important alloying elements for aluminum are Cu, Mg, Si, Mn, Fe and Zn. In this study, elemental analysis distributions were investigated depending on the amount of mechanical deformation in rolling alloys, heat treatment temperature and durations also process differences together with optic emission spectroscopy and SEM-EDS analysis together with micro and macro structure observations.
