||The Influence of Heat Treatment Temperatue on the Bulk Cu-Al/B4C Prepared by Spark Plasma Sintering

Cryomilled Cu-Al/B4C powder(powders prepared by cryomilling Cu powders, Al powders and B4C powders) was prepared using the spark plasma sintering process. This study focused on the influence of heat treatment temperature on the spark plasma sintered the Cu-Al/B4C bulk samples. The results showed that the cryomilled Cu-Al/B4C powders had a structure of saturation solid solution and the sintered bulk samples retained the same microstructure like the cryomilled powders. Investigations on the heat treatment temperature on the Cu-Al/B4C bulk samples revealed that the bulk samples after vacuum heat treatment retained the microstructure of the sintered Cu-Al/B4C bulk samples. The enhancement of the thermal stability of the sintered Cu-Al/B4C bulk samples maybe attributed to the pinning effect of the second phase particles.
