Abstract Scope |
Among the industrially generated waste is glass, which has a high potential for recycling, but when discarded in inappropriate places can accumulate for several generations. In this sense, this work aims to evaluate how the use of soda-lime glass waste influences the properties and processing of red ceramics. For this, the raw materials were characterized according to the chemical and particle size distribution. Therefore, ceramic specimens were prepared with 0, 10, 20 and 30% residue incorporations. The samples were obtained by pressing and sintered in a laboratory oven at 900 °C. The results clearly demonstrated the potential of using soda-lime glass residue generated from the cutting stage as raw material for red ceramic industry. |
