||Some Steps towards Modelling of Dislocation Assisted Rafting: A Coupled 2D Phase Field -- Continuum Dislocation Dynamics Approach

The microstructure evolution in Ni-based superalloys has been investigated by different plasticity-incorporated phase field models. However, most phase field models for superalloys consider dislocation plasticity only indirectly through e.g. standard continuum plasticity or strain gradient plasticity models. In many of those models neither dislocation fluxes nor dislocation climb are considered. In our work, we use a dislocation density and flux based continuum dislocation dynamics (CDD) model which is able to represent dislocations as curved lines. We couple the CDD model to a phase field model and study the influence of dislocation-induced and γ/γ' misfit-induced stresses on the γ' morphology and the dislocation density distribution. We then will show first steps of how to incorporate climb into our model.
