||Fabrication of Functional Materials Powder by Powder Metallurgical Process, and Investigation of their Bulk Properties

In this research, the functional materials powders were fabricated by rapid solidification processes such as gas atomization, water atomization, high energy ball milling. The powder characterizations such as angle of repose, angle of collapse, flat plate collapse, flowability index were examined. The crystal structure of the fabricated powders was analyzed and identified the phase formation in the powder state. The powder morphology and cross-sectional microstructures were characterized by scanning electron microscopy. The functional powders were subsequently consolidated at different temperature, and holding times by spark plasma sintering, and hot pressing different sintering processes. The phase, and microstructure of the bulks were characterized by XRD, SEM respectively. The texture analysis was proceeded by electron back scattering diffraction (EBSD), and atom-level microstructures was characterized by transmission electron microscopy (TEM) respectively. The mechanical properties such as bending strengths, compression strengths, and micro-Vickers hardness values are carried out and interpreted their result with microstructure.
