Abstract Scope |
Al 6061 and C1100 copper alloys were successfully joined via a novel resistance heat assisted ultrasonic seam welding technique with pure aluminum foil as interlayer. The effect of resistance heat on joint temperature and mechanical properties was investigated. The results showed that the addition of electrical resistance heat increased the interface temperature about 50℃ and improved atomic bonding and mechanical fitting of the joining interface, significantly enhance the mechanical properties of the joint. The tensile strength of the joint reached 75 MPa which was 67% higher than that without the resistance heating process. |
