||Investigation of Order-disorder Transition in Multi-principal-element Alloys

The order-disorder transition in a class of multi-principal-element alloys is investigated. The alloys are prepared using melting and casting process followed by heat treatment. The ordering state of the alloys is identified by X-Ray Diffraction (XRD) and Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM). CALculation of PHAse Diagrams (CALPHAD) modeling and Density Functional Theory (DFT) calculations are used to predict the stability of ordered and disordered structures and compared with experimental results. The influence of elements on order-disorder transition, as well as the effect of ordered/disordered structure on mechanical properties, is studied.
