Abstract Scope |
Recently, coloration methods for metallic material had been developed by various theory-based research. One of them, surface treatment methods were using popularly and optimized to various metallic material. However, it has the critical disadvantage, which is easily destructed the colored layer due to external damage and chemical reactions.
Therefore, we have developed the color alloys by selecting the intermetallic compound or solid solution, which has its own color to resolve its disadvantages. In case of solid-solution alloy, it reveals own unique color, because of optical transition energy of alloy has visible light range. it can be modulated by compositional design of alloy. However, there is limitation in alloy design and therefore coloration of alloy is limited.
In this study, we controlled optical properties without compositional design. The solid-solution alloy was conducted cold rolling and annealing process for microstructure evolution. And then, we considered about relationship between optical properties and microstructure. |
