||Numerical Modeling of Microwave Heating an Iron Oxide in the Muti-mode Furnace

A numerical model is presented for predicting electromagnetic fields in a muti-mode microwave cavity, and the power deposition and temperature distribution in the iron oxide. The model is solved numerically using a finite element method based on the COMSOL computational software. Simulations are performed illustrating the influence of microwave power levels, sample size, microwave heating time and dielectric properties. The model is experimentally validated by measurements of point temperatures using fiber optical probes. The presented modeling is used to identify the fundamental parameters and provides guidance for microwave heating metallurgical materials.
