Abstract Scope Recently, many scientists focus on the dietary habits and the evolution process of dinosaurs, especially investigating their teeth. In this work, we applied the nano-indenter to reveal the mechanical behavior of the teeth of two different dinosaurs. One is the Tarbosaurus and the other is the Edmontosaurus. We also applied transmission synchrotron x-ray tomography to examine the microstructure of the different teeth of Tarbosaurus and Edmontosaurus, respectively. We found that the structure differences do lead to different hardness of Tarbosaurus and Edmontosaurus. The systematic comparisons will be presented.
