The problem and disadvantage of stick package in aluminum reduction cell are discussed. The reasons caused packet splicing are analyzed in theory, and the possible factors led to stick package are studied. The results show that the temperature of crust breaking chisel turns out to be the core factor. Probability of stick package could be reduced by shortening open duration for crust breaking chisel, reducing striking depth into the electrolyte and diameter of crust breaking chisel. Additionally, increasing superheat degree, bath temperature and molecular ratio could be helpful.
