||ZnO Synthesis on the Au Metallized Silk Textile for Flexible Photocatalyst Application

Functional wearable devices such as photocatalytic devices have progressively gathered interests in recent years in our request of advanced technologies. The combination of functional and flexible materials turns out to be the most critical technique since functionality and flexibility are the essential requirements for the materials applied in wearable devices. This study therefore carried out electroless Au deposition and ZnO cathodic deposition to arrange ZnO/Au hybrid layered structure onto silk textile meeting the abovementioned requests. Electrical conductivity and photocatalytic activity were evaluated in this study to confirm the practicality of the composites. Electrical conductivity is within the application range. The depositions on the silk textile were confirmed to be ZnO wurtzite phase and Au phase via the XRD pattern. Concentration of H<sub>2</sub>O<sub>2</sub> in the ZnO deposition solution showed significant influence on the photocurrent, which was enhanced 5 times in 0.2 vol.% H<sub>2</sub>O<sub>2</sub> than those electrolyte without H<sub>2</sub>O<sub>2</sub>.
