Hydroforming process is an important manufacturing process to produce automotive parts from good strength light weight metals. There are many process parameters and other factors that affect product quality in hydroforming process. This study mainly focuses on effects on comparisons of constant and variable blank holding force. Hydroforming is performed in order to study the formability of a light and high strength cryorolled Al-Mg alloy sheets. Experimentally determined forming limit diagram, material properties of cryorolled and annealed Al-Mg alloys have been used in simulations. Effects of µ have been studied. By using constant and variable blank holding force strain distribution, percentage of thinning and geometry accuracy have been analyzed.
