Abstract Scope |
The use of natural fibers has been studied for decades and still increasing, replacing the most expensive and polluting synthetic fibers. The objective of this work was to investigate the properties polymeric composites reinforced by jute fabric, the resin used was epoxy. The fabric was characterized by scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The specimens were produced with the amount of jute fabric up to 6 layers and after was evaluated mechanically by Charpy impact testing. In addition, was performed infrared spectroscopy. Subsequently, the fracture surfaces were analyzed by SEM. As conclusion, shows that increasing of jute fabric amount as reinforcement creates a significant improvement at polymeric composites properties.
