| Abstract Scope |
28MnCr5 is high level gear steel. The forming of surface cracks of steel caster is closely related with the high temperature mechanical properties of this kind of steel, which decide the critical deformation value of the solidified shell. In current paper, Gleeble-1500 stress / strain thermal simulation machine was used to investigate the relationship between the hot ductility, tensile strength, yield phenomena and temperature. The results show that Ⅲ brittle temperature ranges from 900℃ to 600℃. The reason of brittleness lowest point of 28MnCr gear steel is grain boundary sliding. During the continuous casting process, straightening temperature should be higher than the lower limit of Ⅲ brittle temperature range, and weak secondary cooling should be used to improve the straightening temperature. |
