Abstract Scope PYCAL<SUP>™</SUP>94, an environmentally friendly plasticizer for polyvinyl butyral, has been evaluated and compared with industry standards-butyl benzyl phthalate and dioctyl phthalate. Compatibility with a commonly used polyvinyl butyral, Butvar<SUP>®</SUP> B-98, is discussed. A direct comparison of this plasticizer is made with the industry standards in side-by-side casting runs.
