Abstract Scope |
The mechanical and thermal properties of clay powder filled recycled low density polyethylene have been determined at filler loadings 0, 5. 10, 15 and 20 % and particle sizes of 90 and 425 um. The incorporation of the clay powder resulted in improvement in the tensile strength and other physical and mechanical properties of the composite formed. These properties increased with increases ion filler clay content and decrease in clay particle size. The thermographioc analysis showed that increase in filler loading decreases the weight loss thereby enhancing the thermal stability of the recycled low density polyethylene composite. |
