||MM-1: Behavior of Quartz and Carbon Black Pellets at Elevated Temperature

This paper studies the quartz and carbon black pellets at evaluating temperature with the influence of different parameters such as: temperature, gas atmosphere, opening area of sample holder etc. The high-pure quartz crushed by tungsten carbide crusher and commercial ultra-pure carbon black was mixed, and then pelletize them into particle of 1-3mm in diameter. The stoichiometric analysis of pellet during heating will be studied in TGA furnace at different temperature in CO and Ar atmosphere. The microstructure, phase changes and element content of sample before/after heating will be characterized by X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscope, X-ray fluorescence and LECO analyser. The mechanism of quartz and carbon black pellets will be reported.
