||X-5: Effect of Deformation Temperature on Cyclic Loading on 6082 Al Alloy in Strain Controlled Mode

In the present study, the influence of cyclic loading in strain controlled mode on ultra fine grained (UFG) 6082 Al was investigated. The UFG-6082 Al alloy was formed by performing cryorolling and cold rolling up to 75% thickness reduction and subsequent annealing was done at 200˚C for 1 hr for further sub grain formation and precipitation hardening. The fatigue testing was carried out at strain amplitude from 0.2% to 0.55% strain. At lower strain amplitude (0.2%), cryorolled sample showed excellent fatigue strength as compared to cold rolled sample. Whereas at higher strain amplitude (0.55 %), cold rolled sample showed higher fatigue strength as compared to cryorolled sample. However, after annealing at 200˚C for 1 hr, fatigue strength at lower strain amplitude (0.2%) as well as higher strain amplitude (0.55%) of cryorolled sample was high as compared to cold rolled sample.
