Abstract Scope |
During ornamental stones processing, between 25 and 30% of the block is transformed into powder, as waste. This powder, without proper guidance, is deposited in inappropriate places, generating serious environmental impacts. The residue used in this work is derived from feldspathic rocks, and thus has a white color. In this sense, this work aims to investigate the influence of this residue on the technological properties and color of the ceramic products, considering that a light-colored product has higher commercial value added. For that, 13 specimens were prepared per allotment, with three different percentages of residues incorporated, being 0%, 20% and 40%, and three different levels of sintering temperature, being 800 ºC, 900 ºC and 1000 °C. It is concluded, through this work, the effective potential of this residue as raw material in the ceramic industry, in order to improve the final product properties. |
